When you want to putty your car, it's good to remember the basic rule: the putty is always preferably applied directly to the metal surface or to a very roughened old and completely hardened paint surface.
If there is a lot of rust on the surface to be worked on, the best way to start is to first drive the rust spots onto the sheet metal with a rust removal disc. Remember to use sandpaper (P120 grit) to ensure a good adhesion surface before starting puttying.
Fiberglass putty is perfect for deep depressions and areas that need support. It can even be used to patch holes, but it must always be finished with, for example, soft-kit. Aluminized putty, on the other hand, is intended for large damaged areas, because it withstands temperature fluctuations well thanks to its good thermal conductivity and is also suitable for surfaces that are exposed to vibration.
Remember to choose the right putty according to the object and the damage to get the best result.
