Blushing ("Haze")
Blushing ("Haze"): A milky gray cloud appears on the paint surface.

Cause:
Blushing primarily occurs when painting in humid conditions. The air from the spray gun and the evaporation of the solvent lower the substrate's temperature below the dew point, causing moisture to condense on or within the paint. The problem is exacerbated if:
- Too quickly drying or poor-quality thinner is used.
- The surface drying is accelerated by blowing, which hastens the release of the solvent.
- Heating and ventilation are inadequate.
Prevention:
- Use high-quality and correct thinner appropriately for the painting conditions.
- Add the recommended amount of thinner when painting in humid conditions.
- Ensure the correct settings and techniques for the spray gun.
- Ensure that the painting booth is well ventilated and the temperature is appropriate.
Correction:
- If blushing occurs during the painting phase:
- Heat the affected area, or
- Add retarder solvent and apply additional layers.
- If the paint has dried, mild blushing can be removed by polishing.
- In severe cases, the surface must be sanded and repainted.
