Northern Lights Auto Refinish stone impact tape protects the paint surface of your vehicle from both stone impacts and scratches.
The most common places to protect are: the edges of the tailgate, fender arches and door sills, front bumpers and the front side of the hood.
During installation, we recommend using soapy water, plain water and a hot air blower for taping curved surfaces. On our YouTube page, you can find a video where you can see how to install stone impact tape. When using soapy water, make sure the PH value of the soap, the value must be 7 (seven). The mixing ratio for soapy water is 3-15 parts soap to 100 parts water, i.e. 3-15:100. Using soapy water prolongs the installation, because the water does not evaporate as quickly. Urgent and small jobs can be done using clean water.
To ensure good retention, heat the edges of the tape carefully (max. 80C.) Also spread the tape all over, so that excess water is removed from under the tape, and possible air bubbles are smoothed out. Finally, dry the surfaces and remove the installation film.
Preparation of the area to be taped is important! The part must be completely clean, we recommend washing the parts to be worked on with Troto's silicone detergent and finishing the cleaning with a dust cloth. To make working easier, pre-cut a suitable piece.
