Cause:

  1. A rough substrate and coarse sandpaper lead to excessive absorption of the topcoats.
  2. An overly thick and rough metallic basecoat causes the clearcoat layer to settle into grooves.
  3. Excessively thick primer layer and incomplete drying of the primer or surface.
  4. Insufficient drying time before polishing.
  5. Incorrect thinner ratio.
  6. Improperly selected thinner that does not suit the painting conditions.
  7. Poor paint booth conditions can cause moisture to remain in the topcoat:
    1. Insufficient ventilation or improper air circulation.
    2. Too hot, too cold, or too humid an environment.

Repair:

  1. Polish the surface to improve gloss once the paint surface is completely dry. If this does not work, sand lightly and repaint the surface.
