Transparency, Poor Coverage

The primer or previous coat is visible through the topcoat.

Cause:

1. Insufficient amount or film thickness of the color coat.

2. Colors are not properly mixed.

3. The color has been over-thinned.

4. The substrate color was incorrect or uneven.

Prevention:

1. Use thinner according to the recommended ratio.

2. Mix the color thoroughly.

3. Use the appropriate primer.

4. Polish or use proper polishing techniques.

Correction: Apply a sufficient amount of paint until full coverage is achieved, or sand and repaint.
