Polyester Putty Adhesion Loss

Loss of adhesion between polyester putty and the substrate.

Cause:

1. The substrate was not properly prepared (main cause).

2. Incorrect use of an infrared dryer.

Correction:

• Sand the damaged area and redo the repair.

• Before applying the putty, it is best to clean the existing paint surface with a silicone remover. If the paint color fades, sand the existing paint surfaces to ensure a good adhesion surface.
